Creating Custom Holidays
I’ve been creating custom holidays since 1995. Although you will find many tour packages on our website, every one of these tours can be (and most are) customized to suit each guest’s individual travel desires.
The most interesting tour request I had this year was from a lady named Denise McFarland who contacted us wanting to cover the most amount of trackage in as short of a time span as possible. Denise is on her way from Toronto to Fairbanks, Alaska to attend the National Railway Historical Society Convention in Fairbanks and Anchorage from September 13 – 22, 2013. Over the course of her seven weeks enroute, I personally had the pleasure of designing her tour, meeting her in Jasper and riding the Rocky Mountaineer with her from Jasper to Quesnel to Whistler to Vancouver.

Rocky Mountaineer’s train manager Wade Bush (famous for Rocky Mountaineer's Green Tea Story – watch VIDEO
), was looking after her on board. Wade, who has worked for Rocky Mountaineer since 1995, was fascinated by Denise’s story and ever so kindly upgraded her to GoldLeaf for the Quesnel to Whistler leg of her journey.

While the tour that Denise did was definitely not for everyone, we managed to time it perfectly for her to see and ride every kilometre of passenger trackage in Western Canada in the shortest time possible. Please take a look at the Canadian portion of her tour below.
