Calgary's Doors are Open
Updated July 6, 2013 15:00
Dear Guests,
As many of you are aware, a State of Emergency was declared
in many areas of Alberta, Canada, including Calgary, Banff, Canmore and High
River. Heavy rainfall in the areas surrounding Banff National Park
resulted in severe flooding and evacuations. A State of Emergency was
issued on Thursday, June 20, 2013 for the Town of Canmore and the City of
Calgary. On July 4, this State of Emergency was lifted from the City of
Calgary and all businesses are letting you know that we are all looking forward
to hosting you this summer.
As we are a Calgary based company, this flood has not only
affected us professionally, but many of our friends and family were evacuated
from their homes or have lost their homes in this flood. If you are
curious about how devastating the flood has been to our city, please take a
look at the following
videos and photos.
Please remember, even while you are celebrating and enjoying Canada, there are people in our area deeply affected by what has happened. Thanks go out to Calgary's Mayor Naheed Nenshi for holding our city together during this time. Here's the Calgary Stampede's new video on the rebuilding efforts that went in to the 2013 Stampede:
