Accommodations during the FIFA World Cup 26™

Vancouver will host seven FIFA World Cup 26™ matches from June 13 to July 7, 2026. With the expected influx of visitors, accommodations will be in high demand and prices will rise from approximately June 1 to July 15, 2026.

Rates: Hotel prices are expected to be 3x to 4x more expensive than typical rates for this time of year.

Locations: The majority of hotels in the downtown core of Vancouver are sold out more than one year in advance.

If you are not planning your train trip around attending one of these matches, we have crafted some incredible alternative routes throughout the Rockies for you to consider. These new itineraries feature a brand new, 2-day Rocky Mountaineer train ride between Banff and Jasper! This limited-time route will combine the best of two train routes in one with a never-before-offered complete Canadian Rockies train experience!

Booking Options: Aggregators such as Expedia, AirBnB, and VRBO are great options for securing accommodations.

If you’re traveling through Vancouver during this time, we will remove the hotel from your tour package and recommend booking accommodations independently. Securing quality options in or near Vancouver may be challenging, so please explore your choices thoroughly before booking your train trip.

If you can’t find accommodations in Vancouver, consider nearby areas like Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, or North Vancouver. Be sure to factor in the time needed to reach the train station.


Train Connections

Rocky Mountaineer & VIA Rail

Rocky Mountaineer 2-Day Routes: For Rocky Mountaineer routes from Vancouver to Banff, Lake Louise, or Jasper, you will need to arrive at the Rocky Mountaineer station independently for a 7:00 AM check-in.

Rocky Mountaineer 3-Day Route: For the Rocky Mountaineer route from North Vancouver to Jasper via Whistler, you will need to make your way to a downtown Vancouver hotel to catch a transfer to the station at 6:55 AM.

VIA Rail Canada: For VIA Rail departures on ‘The Canadian’ train out of Vancouver, you will need to be at Pacific Central Station at 1:30 PM.

Transfers: Should you require a private transfer from your accommodations to either train station, please let us know and we will be happy to arrange that for you.

Toronto will host six FIFA World Cup 26™ matches from June 12 to July 2, 2026. With the influx of visitors expected, accommodations will be in high demand and prices will be elevated from approximately June 1 to July 15, 2026.

We have reserved a limited number of hotel rooms in Toronto for this period and will be offering two-night stays that align with our most popular Trans-Canada train tours: The Canadian Adventurer and The Canadian Trip of a Lifetime traveling in both directions. Due to changes in train schedules and hotel availability in Toronto, we’ve created alternative routes showcasing more of the Canadian Rockies, including a brand-new 2-day Rocky Mountaineer journey between Banff and Jasper for those who prefer to avoid Vancouver during this time period. This exclusive route offers a unique combination of two iconic train journeys, delivering an unparalleled Canadian Rockies experience!
