As such Rocky Mountaineer does not accept liability for allergic reactions to food items. As part of our commitment to transparency, please be sure you have read and understood our position on ‘Company Liability’ as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

As your safety and well-being are our primary concern, if we do not feel we can safely satisfy the needs of your allergy, we do reserve the right to refuse to supply food service onboard the train. Should this circumstance arise we do allow affected guests to bring their own food onboard, although for your safety Rocky Mountaineer cannot handle, store or prepare personal food.

If you have a severe food allergy we strongly recommend you carry an epinephrine pen or other antidote at all times, and are accompanied by a person trained to assist you in an emergency. Please be aware that much of our rail journeys occur in remote areas where outside medical assistance is not readily accessible.

VIA Rail Food Disclaimer:

VIA cannot guarantee that individuals will be protected from the substances to which they are allergic while travelling on our trains. It is therefore recommended that allergic persons bring along the necessary medication as a precaution.

Meals are prepared fresh on-board therefore your clients can discuss any dietary restrictions or requirements with their server and/or car attendant.
