Vancouver to Jasper Train


On this three-day luxury train experience between Vancouver and Jasper, you will travel along the Sea to Sky corridor through the Coast Mountains, passing Mount Currie as it looms over the rich Pemberton Valley. Take in views of serene lakes and hilltop orchards above farming communities, eventually crossing over one of the highest railway bridges in the world. Continue through rolling rills before making your way to the salmon-rich waters of the Fraser River, the Valley of a Thousand Peaks and view the dramatic Mount Terry Fox. Finally, Mount Robson – the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies – will greet you as you approach your final destination, the mountain town of Jasper.

Day One - Vancouver Departure

Departing from our North Vancouver station, you’ll wind your way along Horseshoe Bay and the scenic fjords of Howe Sound.

Start the day taking in stunning views of the surrounding mountains and sea, before being served a delicious breakfast that warms you to the core.

As you leave Squamish, you’ll leave the ocean behind you and find yourself in the majestic Coast Mountains, on the way to Whistler. Keep you eyes peeled for The Chief, one of the most famous local landmarks in the Vancouver area.

Finally you’ll pull into Whistler station, with plenty of time to unwind and explore this world-class mountain resort. Stroll through the village and explore the restaurants and shops, or take a ride on the Peak-2-Peak Gondola for amazing views of the surrounding area.

Day Two - Whistler Departure

Continuing north from Whistler, follow the Fraser River Valley through some amazingly contrasting landscapes where rushing rivers meet desert-like expanses.

This historic route takes you through gold-flecked canyons, once made famous by wagons full of gold prospectors – which have also been home to the Indigenous people of the region for millennia.

As the train ascends, so will your curiosity and sense of exploration. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself surrounded by mountains stretching to the sky, and you can enjoy the views from the luxurious comfort of the train.

Steeped in rustic charm, you’ll enjoy a warm welcome as you arrive in Quesnel. While you’re there, make sure to take a step into the past by crossing the historic Fraser River Footbridge.


Day Three - Jasper Arrival

Departing Quesnel, you’ll continue towards today’s destination of Jasper, passing through the wilds of Northern British Columbia. Your journey into the Canadian Rockies will take you past rushing waterfalls, peaceful lakes and trough increasingly mountainous terrain.

As you continue to Jasper, your Hosts will point out the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson.

With the end of your final day aboard the Rocky Mountaineer and your arrival, you’ll want to explore everything that Jasper has to offer.
