Arrival Information:

If you arrive to Ottawa by train, we recommend taking the short taxi ride from the station to your hotel downtown, the rate is between CAD $16-20.

When arriving in Ottawa by air your best option to go to your hotel is also by taxi. As you make it to the arrivals level 1 area, proceed to the centre door and you will find the queue forming there. Rates from the airport to Downtown Ottawa hotels vary between CAD $35 -40.

If you are a visitor to Canada and you are not a citizen of the USA, you may be required to purchase an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). This document can be purchased for CAD $7.00 and most applications are approved within minutes of applying. When departing from Ottawa by air your best option to go to the airport is by taxi. Your hotel’s front desk staff will be happy to order a taxi for you at the time you request it. Rates from the airport to Downtown Ottawa hotels vary between CAD $35 -40.

Sightseeing Recommendations:

Ottawa, capital city of Canada, has no shortage of historic sites to see and things to do. Here is a short list of some of them:

  • Parliament Hill: Each morning during summer months, the front lawn of Parliament Hill is the setting of the daily Changing of the Guard ceremony; each evening the public is invited to gather again to witness the awe-inspiring Sound and Light show.
  • UNESCO Rideau Canal: a historic waterway filled with boaters spring through fall,the Rideau Canal winds through the heart of Ottawa before connecting with the Ottawa River through dramatic stepped locks right next to Parliament Hill.
  • National Arts Centre: The Capital’s premier performing arts venue presents a full lineup of music, dance and theatre, plus popular touring acts and shows.
