Small-Group Jasper Nature Tour

Operated by Alberta Blue Sky Tours

Exclusive Half-Day Jasper Tour Description

This tour offers a guided, easy-paced hike through Maligne Canyon, the deepest accessible canyon in the Canadian Rockies, year-round. Most groups will cross the first two of six bridges spanning the gorge. In the summer, the tour extends through Maligne Valley to the intriguing “disappearing” Medicine Lake, concluding at Maligne Lake. This tour is mainly a nature, scenic, and geological voyage, but it is also an excellent opportunity to see some of Jasper’s abundant wildlife with the possibility of seeing elk, moose, bears, big-horned sheep, mountain goats, wolves, and more depending on the time of year.

From June through September, a 1.5-hour cruise on Maligne Lake is included where you’ll have the chance to visit the iconic Spirit Island.

From October to May, you may visit other sites around Jasper such as Pyramid Lake/Pyramid Lake Island, the Mount Robson viewpoint – the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, or other activities such as hike the Mary Schaffer Loop, hike out to Moose Lake, or set out in search of wildlife.

The itinerary on our Small-Group Tours may vary from day to day as traveling with fewer guests allows our tour guides to be flexible and tailor the plans for the day based on the groups’ interests and fitness levels.
