Inside Passage Ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert
The Inside Passage Ferry departs from Port Hardy and travels through the magnificent glacial fjords of the Inside Passage en route to the stunning and wild destination of Prince Rupert. This 16-hour journey sails a portion of the Inside Passage that is a popular summer destination for Alaskan Cruises. Throughout this stretch, you may see many types of wildlife in the water (whales, orcas, sea lions and seals), on land (bears) and in the air (eagles).
All of our guests are provided with a private onboard cabin for day use when sailing this route. The cabin includes space for luggage storage, bunk beds, and a private bathroom. You are not required to stay in the cabin as you have full access to the ship, the cabin just provides you with a place to rest if necessary.
The route sails every other day between the months of June and September.

Upon arrival in Prince Rupert, you will need to take a taxi to your hotel. Please note that it is not possible to prearrange a taxi as they will be waiting upon the arrival of the ferry on a first-come, first-serve basis. Getting a taxi here can be a difficult endeavor at times as there is often a large group of people waiting with just a few taxis available in town. To prepare for this, we strongly recommend having cash on hand for taxis as not all of them have working debit machines due to the remote nature of Prince Rupert. Cash is also very helpful as you may want to make friends in the taxi line that are going to a similar destination and split the ride with them.
If you need to contact Skeena Taxi, their number is 1 250-624-2185.
