Golfing in the Calgary Flames Alumni Masters - 2023

For the second consecutive year, Canada Rail Vacations has participated in the Calgary Flames Alumni Masters Golf Tournament in support of CP Kids & Families. This yearly scramble golf tournament is hosted by past players of the Calgary Flames hockey team and was held at Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club located just outside of Calgary, Alberta.

For the 2023 tournament, Canadarail.ca donated a 4-day Rocky Mountaineer train tour from Vancouver to Banff which was made available by online auction. A special thank you goes out to June and Allison who were the winners of the trip thanks to their donation of more than CAD $7800 which will go towards supporting children with Cerebral Palsy.

Canada Rail Vacations was represented by our team members Martin, Spencer, and Dalton. Spencer and Dalton being the avid golfers in the office spend plenty of time on the golf course and will often play with our clients travelling on one of our Golf Tours however, Martin often only golfs when it is in support of a good cause.

To round out the group, we were joined by former Calgary Flames captain and Stanley Cup winner Lanny McDonald. Although Lanny no longer lives in Calgary, he spends a lot of his time in the city, he remains an active member in the community making frequent appearances in support of many different charitable causes. Over the course of the day, Lanny, whose hockey abilities seem to have translated to the golf course well, donated many great golf shots to our team. As a team, we went on to shoot a net 20 under par, falling just short of the winning team by 2 shots.
