Daily Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Calgary and Scenic Transfer to Banff
Upon arriving in Calgary, you’ll be transported to Banff, located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Surrounded by towering, snow-powdered peaks, few, if any, mountain resort towns can match Banff’s rugged beauty.
Day 2 - Rocky Mountaineer Train from Banff to Kamloops
The rail portion of your Canadian vacation will begin aboard a Rocky Mountaineer train. From Banff, it will glide west into the Canadian Rockies. The Mountaineer’s dome cars will provide you with uncompromising views of snow-packed peaks, tumbling mountain streams and earth-carving glaciers. The Spiral Tunnels, Rogers Pass and Glacier National Park (12 percent of it is solid ice), all noted landmarks, will add to the awe of your journey. After crossing the Continental Divide, you’ll enter British Columbia. The glacier-clad mountains give way to arid grassland hills of the Kamloops region. Overnight in Kamloops.
Day 3 - Rocky Mountaineer Train from Kamloops to Vancouver
Your Rocky Mountaineer train will continue west before turning south into the Fraser River Valley. With the return of the mountains, the landscape again changes dramatically. The Canadian Cascades combine with thick fir forests and the charging Fraser River to create a spectacular setting. Along the way you’ll pass Hell’s Gate, a narrow canyon with sheer, towering walls that transforms the Fraser River into a froth of surging rapids. Upon reaching Vancouver in the late afternoon, you can explore the city at your own pace. Popular attractions include Gastown, Chinatown, Granville Square, Stanley Park and the Robson Street Shopping District.
Day 4 - Vancouver Departure
Your tour ends upon checking out of your hotel.
