Daily Itinerary
Day 1 - Rocky Mountaineer Train from Jasper to Quesnel
Depart the resort town of Jasper onboard the Rocky Mountaineer train and travel to the charming mining town of Quesnel. The gateway to the North Cariboo, pass through the Rocky Mountain Trench, with the steep Rocky and Cariboo Mountains on either side of the train. Enjoy amazing rolling hills and the vast forests of of British Columbia’s Interior. Highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Yellowhead Pass and Moose Lake. Arrive in Quesnel after passing through the city of Prince George and along the Fraser River. Breakfast and lunch are included aboard the train.
Day 2 - Rocky Mountaineer Train from Whistler to Quesnel
Continuing your journey, the Rocky Mountaineer leaves Quesnel headed to the four-season resort of Whistler. Take in the breathtaking and varied scenery, from the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon, through the rolling hills and vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau, to the river canyons and lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley. Highlights include the sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon, the crossing of Deep Creek Bridge, one of the highest railway bridges in the world. Moving along to the shorelines of the glacier-fed Seton Lake and Anderson Lake, your journey for the day ends as you arrive in Whistler, host of the 2010 Olympic Games alpine events. Breakfast and lunch are provided aboard the train.
Day 3 - Rocky Mountaineer Train from Quesnel to Jasper
Take the free morning as part of your final day of travel to explore Whistler Village at your leisure. In the afternoon, start the final leg of your route as you make your way through the stunning scenery of the Sea to Sky Corridor. Highlights of your journey include the Cheakamus Canyon, the dome peak of Mount Garibaldi, Brandywine Falls, and unforgettable views of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains. An afternoon canapé style meal is served onboard before you arrive at the North Vancouver train platform.
