Daily Itinerary

Day 1 - Vancouver Arrival. Private Transfer to Hotel

Upon your arrival in Vancouver, your private driver will pick you up and take you to your room at the downtown Fairmont Hotel. Spend the remainder of your day exploring any of Vancouver’s excellent attractions such as the Vancouver Art Gallery or the Vancouver Lookout. Accommodation is included throughout your tour package.

Day 2 - Vancouver Private Sightseeing Tour. Board "The Canadian" Winter Train

Today you’ll start your day off with a privately driven city tour of Vancouver. Travel through Vancouver’s past, present and future as you visit historic Gastown, colourful Chinatown and the lively entertainment district. Discover the beauty of the sprawling 1000-acre Stanley Park, English Bay and experience the bustle of Robson Street, located in the heart of the shopping district. The rail portion of your trip begins with a private transfer to the VIA Rail train station. Depart Vancouver in the afternoon onboard the ‘Canadian’ train. You’ll travel through the Fraser Valley, British Columbia’s agricultural heartland, and along the meandering salmon-rich waters of the Fraser River. The train carries on through scenic river canyons carved into the Coast and Cascade Mountains and goes past unique historical attractions such as the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate. Your train then passes through the dry interior of British Columbia. Snuggle in for the night in your private-bedroom accommodation as the soothing, rhythmic sounds of the train rock you to sleep.

Day 3 - "The Canadian" Winter Train - Arrival in Jasper

Wake up for breakfast on board the train and witness a winter sunrise in the British Columbia Rocky Mountains, truly a sublime experience. Today you’ll pass by the south-face of Mt. Robson, the tallest mountain in the Canadian Rockies and arrive in Jasper, Alberta around noon. Your hotel shuttle will be waiting to bring you to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Hotel— a lovely, rustic setting nestled within a snow dusted forest. You’ll have the afternoon free to ice skate, take in some mountain scenery or go snowshoeing.

Day 4 - Jasper Private Sightseeing Tour

Embark on a half day private tour of one of the most spectacular areas of Jasper National Park. The first stop is at Maligne Canyon where 10,000 years of erosion have created the deepest canyon in the Rockies. You’re free to marvel at the wonder of the canyon and the frozen waterfalls as you embark on this short and easy walk. From the canyon, you’ll continue on to the frozen lakes of Jasper, the “mysteriously” disappearing Medicine Lake and then on to Maligne Lake for a nice photo opportunity, during which time you may choose to explore a little further or simply enjoy the natural beauty. Spend the rest of your day exploring the town of in Jasper or taking advantage of the amenities at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Day 5 - Private Guided Tour on the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Lake Louise

Board a private tour vehicle and travel southeast down the Icefields Parkway, often hailed as the most beautiful highway in Canada. You’ll travel through the natural splendour of Jasper and Banff National Parks as glaciated peaks tower breathtakingly along the roadside. The panorama of snow-capped peaks and endless mountain ridges occasionally opens up to afford a spectacular view of deep tree-covered valleys stretching to a distant horizon. Crisp blue skies offer unique and fantastic photo opportunities. Your guide will stop for a few photo opportunities at Athabasca Falls, the Columbia Icefield and the pristine Bow Lake, before arriving in at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for the night.

Day 6 - Private Lake Louise to Banff Tour

Awake to the crisp mountain air of Lake Louise and enjoy a hot breakfast at one of the fantastic restaurants that overlook the breathtaking scenery. Take a walk out on to the lake, or perhaps rent some skates and play some Pond Hockey, a time-honoured Canadian tradition. You’ll embark on a half day of sightseeing, with notable landmarks including; crossing the Great Divide, entering Yoho National Park, visiting Emerald Lake and viewing the mighty waters of the Kicking Horse River. You’ll return to arrive in Banff in the late afternoon, and if you wish you may choose to spend the rest of the day cross country skiing at Emerald Lake. Spend the night at the world-famous Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Day 7 - Free Day in Banff

Enjoy a free day in Banff and some down time exploring, or relaxing, on your last day in the Rockies. Take advantage of the hotel amenities, such as the spa, dining or even a hotel tour where you’ll learn about its extensive history. We recommend visiting the Banff Hot Springs, as there’s nothing quite like basking in their naturally warm waters as you take in the heart of the Rockies during a cold, Canadian winter day. If you are feeling adventurous, hit the slopes for some skiing or ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain in the four-person, fully enclosed gondola to take in the spectacular views of the surrounding Bow Valley.

Day 8 - Private Transfer Banff to Calgary
